Whatsapp UPI Payment: How To Send & Recieve Money. WhatsApp is known as one of the best online social media applications for communications. And now it will come with a new feature of online payment transaction through Unified Payment Interface [UPI]. The beta version of WhatsApp is being tested by the tester, and no announcements are made for the release of this update, but it will soon be available for 200 million Android and IOS users in India. This update will help us to send and receive money directly via WhatsApp messenger. It is primarily being launched to give competition to companies like Google’s “Google Tez” and Paytm which also provides digital payment transaction through UPI. This payment feature will take advantage of UPI and include support of the number of banks including State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank and HDFC Bank.
Tips to remember for WhatsApp payment features:
To activate this feature, user has to verify their phone number via SMS and they select any one of the Banks
After completing the configurations, the option to send payments will be accessible by the user
The payment option then can be found in the settings option
Read the terms and conditions of the application carefully as WhatsApp is not a licensed financial institution. It means that they don’t receive, transfer or keep your money for them. Any error in the payment gateway will not be called as a fault of the company

How To Get access to WhatsApp payment feature:
Make sure that you’re using the updated versions of WhatsApp application on your phones. For Android, the application is processing on v2.1841, and for IOS the version is v2.18.22. See if the payment subheading comes under setting, if yes then you’re able to do transactions by WhatsApp’s UPI based payments, if not then you have to wait for a while. How To Interlink Your Bank Account with WhatsApp UPI Payment:
- Whatsapp UPI Payment feature is available for Beta Version (Link will be added soon)
- Go to Settings then Payments inside WhatsApp
- Select the Add New Account option
- Read the Terms and Conditions, and tap Accept & Continue
- Verify your phone number registered with the Bank and through OTP
- Select the Bank where you have an account
- You will be able to see UPI SETUP Complete screen
You can also add multiple bank accounts at a time and can select any one of them as the “Primary Bank Account” or else the bank account you would have added first will become the primary one.
